What contributions will the Brazilian Amazon make to urbanism in the 21st century?
Abstract
This text addresses the complexity of the Amazonian municipality as an illustration for reflections on the need for South-Global urbanism to incorporate socio-environmental discussions. It departs from the theses on intraurban space structuring and on green and blue corridors with the support of literature review, historical maps, field research, data available in official bases and the use of geotechnologies. Along the way, the classic intraurban space was expanded, and from a decolonial perspective, the territories of forest peoples were recognized as part of a variant of green and blue grid. It is concluded that to an extended urban corresponds an extended periurban, invisiblized and under strong pressure for its disappearance, but which is the bearer of solutions to socio-environmental crises and recent conflicts established between the historical city and the cycles and processes of nature.
