Women Architects [urban planners and designers]: where are we going?
Abstract
The text explores feminism as an analytical tool, discussing its position as a political movement and philosophical doctrine. It addresses different perspectives on the objectives of feminism and issues of definition and classification within the movement. Using a transdisciplinary approach, it proposes a typology to understand the various strands of feminism and their interaction with paradigms and epistemologies. It highlights the importance of recognizing and elucidating feminist references in architectural theory to preserve its feminist genealogy. In summary, the text seeks to provide tools for analyzing more precisely and systematically the social issues related to the oppression of women and their exclusion from public space.
Keywords: feminism, critical analysis, feminist architectural theory.
