Abstract

This article presents the identity construction and maturation of a black woman in territorial articulation and the movements that led her to be recognized as a female leader in Morro da Providência, the port area of Rio de Janeiro. In this article, I seek to demonstrate how leadership presents itself in multiple experiences, the journey and how its action within the social movement impacts other women and how this social relationship feeds back into a network construction immersed in affectivities.
