Art and architecture
a complicated story
Abstract
The relationships between art and architecture have developed in a complicated, sometimes difficult, or entangled way, others, light and harmonious, sometimes intricate, and others complex. Aggressive and belligerent, too. Indifferent, many others, when not apathetic or indolent. The concern of this paper is tracing this kind of relations that accompany this unstable binomial since the fifteenth century. But, by its intrinsic characteristics cannot do so in depth, so the purpose is more reflective, in the sense of exposing general ideas that lead from an affectionate beginning between these metiers, passing through the losses of the amalgam we suppose maintained the relation stable, that is to say, by the loss of drawing, to face the process of rupture, sometimes indifferent, sometimes very belligerent. But, like any relation that is sustained by similarities, it ends in a reaction to the estrangement that re-establishes the deepest ties, and in the present case, it ends up multiplying the relations that had been weakened or lost. The consideration ends up looking for a conclusion, which sometimes escapes our hands, but perhaps this is the only possible conclusion in a complicated relationship.
